Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville has spoken out about the nerves he felt as his penalty-kick helped Everton into the final of the F.A Cup and ended the Reds' Quintuple dream. The England international was one of four Everton players who beat Ben Foster from the spot as the Toffees sealed a 4-2 spot-kick win over the European champions.

"Taking that was one of the most nerve-racking things I have ever done" said P Neville, following Everton's spot-kick win.

"When I scored I did not want to celebrate in front of the Manchester United fans. You don't celebrate in front of people who have helped you in your career, but inside I was burning. When we won it I was just happy to celebrate with the Everton fans."

Neville made his Reds debut in a 5-2 F.A Cup win over Wrexham in 1995 and made 386 appearances for the club before heading to Goodison Park.
