Former Manchester United shot stopper Gary Walsh has been appointed goalkeeping coach at Hartlepool United. The 41-year-old has enjoyed coaching stints at Wigan Athletic and Derby County since hanging up his gloves.
Walsh spent a decade as reserve goalkeeper at Old Trafford between 1985 and 1995. He made 62 first-team appearances for the club, also enjoying loan stints with the Airdrieonians and Oldham Athletic.
The England Under-21 international would go onto join Middlesbrough and Bradford City before finishing off his playing days at Wigan. He retired, aged 38, in the summer of 2006.
Walsh replaces George Wood at Pools.
