Table-topping Reds hold on for nervous home win

Manchester United held on for a nervous win against Bolton on Saturday, returning to the Premier League summit in the process. A Zat Knight own-goal and an Antonio Valencia strike looked to have put the champions well on their way, but Bolton fought back through Matt Taylor and exerted bags of pressure late on.
United totally bossed proceedings and looked on course
for an easy win with seventy minutes gone. The Reds were cruising and, safe in
the knowledge that Villa had beaten Chelsea
at lunchtime, were on their way to the top of the Premier League.
The
hosts took the lead early on after Knight's leg directed Michael Owen's effort
goalward, and Sir Alex Ferguson's men went onto miss a host of chances that
could have sealed up this Lancashire derby
early.
The
game looked dead and buried on 32 minutes. Valencia bagged his first goal for
the club as he exchanged a one-two with Owen and drilled a powerful drive
beyond Jussi Jaaskelainen.
Bolton, however, sparked into life in the closing stages.
Livewire Mark Davies came off the bench and nodded home a Kevin Davies cross
with sixteen minutes left and suddenly the Red Devils started to panic.
The
Trotters threw a number of high balls forward and Edwin van der Sar had to be
at his best at the end as the Reds held on for an ultimately nervous three
points.

I mean, years ago we completely dominated Fulham away and a last minute Papa Dioup blaster got them a point and it still annoys me.
We were completely at ease and in control and should have knocked in 2 oe 3 more and then a silly goal conceded and we fell to pieces. Dropped back and just hoofed the ball forward!!
I thought Giggs was magnificent again, the guy amazes me every game. Berbatov showed lovely touches and Valencia sid well
I was delighted top see Gary play so well. His involvement in Valencias goal was outstanding
And Giggs is the best of the lot it seems !!
We almost threw it all away but grinded it out.
3 points and the other reslults were kind to us, Arsenal exception.
Q beachball jokes for the next few weeks....
So on top of dropping points when game should have been won my hand was killing me
