Fulham v. United - Premier League preview

After brushing side a second-string Wolves side on Wednesday evening, Sir Alex Ferguson's men can expect a tougher test on Saturday afternoon. Manchester United travel to Craven Cottage to face a Fulham side who have reached the knock-out stage of the Europa League. It’s United’s final fixture before Christmas Day.
The Cottagers currently sit 9th in the table and, under the stewardship of Roy Hodgson, have established themselves as a strong and consistent force at Premier League level.
Fulham go into the game on the back of a six-match unbeaten run - most recently securing a 3-2 win in Basle that secured safe passage into the last 32 of the Europa League.
Hodgson, however, will be without England frontman Andrew Johnson for the game. The striker is struggling with a groin problem and joins Simon Davies, Seol Ki-Hyeon and Dio Kamara in the treatment room.
Fergie has injury concerns of his own. The United boss is sweating on the fitness of talisman defender Nemanja Vidic, particularly as Rio Ferdinand, John O'Shea, Jonny Evans and Gary Neville are all expected to be missing.
Goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, meanwhile, will not line-up against his former club. The towering Dutch stopper is undergoing knee treatment in his native Netherlands, meaning impressive 'PIG' Tomasz Kuszczak will continue between the sticks.
With Chelsea not in action until Sunday, the Red Devils will go level on points with the West Londoners if they're successful on their jaunt to the capital.
