It will at least go to the wire and the final day...

19 ???

United's quest to win a record breaking fourth consecutive league title and an overall record of nineteen is still alive for one final week. As suspected Chelsea strolled to victory at Anfield against a Liverpool side who will now finish the season trophyless and probably in seventh place. United won at Sunderland despite wasting a number of chances - Nani's first half strike was sufficient.

The drama will therefore continue at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge next Sunday afternoon. The day of destiny did not materialise into much today (Sunday) however it did show that others have much work to do if they are to regain former glories.

Whatever happens next week United have once again been involved in the title race until the very end and have a major trophy in the cabinet!

Stoke City next at Old Trafford.

It's all over. Chelsea are going to completely slaughter Wigan and we will force our way past Stoke. An upset would be incredible. Liverpool SUCK.

The defeat to Chelsea was always going to be crucial; however much, much stranger things have happened than Wigan grabbing a point at Chelsea. I remember Emile Heskey only a couple of seasons ago infact ...

Losing to Burnley at the start of the season has proven that every game in crucial.

no point in pointing the finger at any individual game, there were any games we should have done better in and didnt, many games we should have gotten beaten and won. No hard feelings here. Disappointed yes, but hey, i didnt expect us to win the league this year, im proud of how close it actually was and how well we did.

true brian. Earlier on that @#$%& ballack and co were running their mouth how they were going to win it by christmas. nice that we proved that dismiss manutd at your peril. even when lets be honest we were a bit lightweight this year it still took some dodgy calls in our 2 head to head games to edge them past us. Hopefully we do enough in the summer to get back infront of the pack.

The amazing thing is, the reports from OT are that there will be a "bumper transfer kitty available".

We have signed two players already lets not forget, so, given financial situation, how can there be more available?

I want us to buy but i dont want us to go into administration ffs.....

what two players? the 2 youngsters? God help us if smalling is in our first team next season from what i have seen and heard of him.

and arent you the one going on about our poor(ish) squad?

I'll be happy enough if we get just 1 experienced attacking midfielder. minimum. Someone will have to make way, which i accept as long as it is not fletch or scholesy (not long left in his legs but cmon its scholes!)

You mistake my point, i am the very one going on about the poor squad. my point is that the reports are saying we will be active in transfer market. considering we have signed 2 players for over 20 mil in total im wondering where the money will come from. Granted i do want us to sign quality top class players, but at what price? Bankrupcy?

We need to sell some of the cr@p to fund it, not just state "we are buying some players this summer".
