Fergie slams Berbatov exit rumours

Berbatov staying

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has scoffed at speculation that Dimitar Berbatov is set to leave the club. The Bulgarian frontman has been linked with a host of clubs including AC Milan, Bayern Munich and Aston Villa, but Sir Alex has halted speculation by insisting that the striker is staying at Old Trafford.

Though Berbatov has bagged 26 United goals in 86 appearances, it is fair to say that the Bulgarian has never matched his 30million price tag since joining the club from Spurs.

Rumours have been persistent about the forward's pending exit - and a number of press reports have indicated that a £12million summer move was in the offing; with Milan and Munich considered the most likely destinations.

However, Fergie has been quick to squash speculation and insists that Berbatov will remain at Old Trafford next season.

Sir Alex said: "He is a fantastic footballer and he will be with us next year."

Berbatov may face a battle with the likes of Michael Owen and new signing Javier Hernandez to partner Wayne Rooney in attack next season.

great now we can watch him under perform for another season, dont get me wrong berbatov is a good player, but he does not fit in with the way we play.and being that we wont be spending any money on established world class players to make our team stronger(as there is still no value in the market,eh fergie.dont forget to brush your teeth gill after having your tongue up the glazer's @#$%&) we can sit back and watch trophies slip away again.also being that rooney is our main attack threat lets hope he really is fully fit going into the world cup or he might not be playing at the start of next season.

Fergie keeps flogging this dead horse for another season! Please get rid,he's been a complete waste of money, doing 3 or 4 flicks a season isn't a success! After another season he'll be worth nothing and we'll be shifting him off on a free!!Never wanted him here from the start! We should of spent the £30 million on gazumping Real to get Benzema or pushed the boat out for Aguero.

not only the lkes of michael owen , hernandez , but the likes of Macheda, Welback(if back from injury). eventhough he might be the 2nd, or 3rd forward in the team right now, but wiv macheda, if having his form back, i think he will be behind in him, hernandez, if he keeps his form like he is doing now, then he'll be the 3rd forward back behind macheda, though i bet SAF will still put him back two the 2nd forward eventhough he lost his form. I don't know, maybe, but i rather he be behind macheda becuz macheda is young, but strong and fast. Just lke Emile Heskey. He will be a good pair up wiv Wazza. It'll be the England forwards, but faster, but lacks exp.
However, i think they should buy a left mid. We are lacking left mid, bcuz even though nani and park is taking up the place for left, but nani and parky is better in the middle and nani is better wiv the right.
Silva will be a good addition to the team, but wage is too high. They should sell tosic, bcuz he is not strong enuff to be in the EPL. He is good in Germany, but staying in england will only make his career go downhill. If tosic is staying, then the ManU shuld work on his body, to be strong enuff to be in the EPL.
But overall, i think Berbatov stayingn is not a bad choice, for him to change styles in our play. however, i think he shuld be left in the 3rd forward behind macheda. Owen has a good finishing but i think he only has the exp in 70th min, like hwo he worked up in the match in Man City. Not saying he is nto good enuff. But his injury is too cnsistent. Rather him be 4th, and If dannby welback get his form ,shuld play as a SS, and 3rd behind owen.

Couldn't see SAF selling Berbatov, much an all as i want him to.

Just hope he knows something we don't......

Berbatov undoubtedly has supreme talent but lacks the application to runaround for 90 minutes like Rooney or Park or Fletcher for example.

He needs to have a long hard look at himself and realise we have no place for luxury players inthe team. I remain convinced that he can re-invent himself, After all Nani almost has!!

He has a nice break from PL footy to dwell on it.

If he isn't a revived man come start of season and is still the same, i'd pour petrol on him and set him on fire and claim the insurance!

Oh... hang on, that only works on hire purchase motors winking smiley
