South Korean talisman Ji-Sung Park hit the net as his country secured an impressive 2-0 win over Greece. The Korean Republic, also nicknamed the Red Devils, became the first nation to win at this year's finals as they climb straight to the top of Pool B.
Park bagged South Korea's second goal as they sealed a comfortable and impressive win over the Greeks.
Huh Jung-moo's team should have sealed a more convincing win as they squandered a host of chances in front of goal.
However, the Korean Republic will be delighted with a confident three points - with Lee Jung-soo breaking the deadlock on seven minutes as he fired home a fine volley.
The advantage was doubled on 52 minutes as the energetic Park fired a left-footed strike beyond the onrushing goalkeeper. His performances are considered vital to his country's successes this term - and this goal was testimony to his fantastic ability.
In the day's other Group B game, Argentina beat Nigeria by a single goal. Former Reds Gabriel Heinze and Carlos Tevez were in action.
