Manchester United completes their tour of North America with a disappointing 3-2 defeat against Mexican outfit Club Deportivo Guadalajara, with Javier Hernandez scoring AGAINST his new club! Chivas entertained Manchester United in a pre-season match arranged to mark the opening of the club's new Estadio Omnilife stadium.
Hernandez joined United from Chivas - and to mark the occasion, the diminutive Mexican striker played the first 45 minutes for his former club before donning United colours after the break.
The promising forward stunned his new employers by opening the scoring for Chivas after only eight minutes. He took advantage of Adolfo Bautista's lay-off to rifle a fine effort home.
Summer signing Chris Smalling levelled the scores less than two minutes later as he nodded home a corner, but the Mexicans played the much better football throughout the opening half and United could have few complaints when Bautista guided a neat finish beyond the reach of Tomasz Kuszczak seven minutes before half-time.
The majority of the 45,500 crowd were celebrating again shortly before the hour mark as Reynoso's header doubled Chivas' lead. Nani's late goal proved only consolation as United's pre-season tour ended in defeat.
