Sir Alex Ferguson praised his solid back four after Manchester United held out for a goalless draw at Sunderland. Supporters have raised concerns following a disappointing performance – but the Red Devils boss has said he is "satisfied" with the result.
United's back four performed well at the Stadium of Light as the two sides played out a goalless draw.
The Reds failed to carve out many opportunities, while Sunderland missed a host of decent chances.
"We had to defend very well and the pleasing thing for me is that the back four were fantastic," said Ferguson.
"The consistency of not losing is something we can take. I am not pleased but I am satisfied."
United have all four of their away games in the league this season and will be looking for big improvements for the home clash with West Bromwich Albion next weekend.

Apparently we were second best in many departments but it's a clean sheet and another point.
