FC United of Manchester's play-off hopes were dealt a blow on Saturday with a disappointing goalless home draw against struggling Mickleover Sports. 2,155 were at Gigg Lane as Karl Marginson's men extended their unbeaten run to eight matches.

Relegation-threatened Mickleover Sports may be struggling at the wrong end of the Northern Premier League table, but they boast a decent away record and strengthened that at Gigg Lane on Saturday.

The Derbyshire club held out for a goalless draw at Gigg Lane, denting FC United's hopes of a play-off finish.

FC have shown terrific improvements in recent weeks and are unbeaten since a defeat in North Wales at Colwyn Bay - but will be disappointed not to have claimed maximum points against the Mickleover suburb outfit.

The Red Rebels currently sit sixth in the league table, three points off the play-offs with two games in hand over fifth-placed Marine. Little United are next in action next weekend against Worksop Town.Play
