Sir Alex admits Owen deserves more games at United

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that Michael Owen is not playing as many games as he deserves after the 31-year-old hit a brace at Elland Road on Tuesday evening. Owen's League Cup start at Leeds was his first for the Red Devils since January and sections of the national media have labelled him the fifth chouce frontman at Old Trafford.
Owen took his chance to impress at Leeds by bagging two crucial goals against Championship outfit Leeds.
His two goals and a fine strike from Welshman Ryan Giggs were enough to secure an easy victory for the Red Devils against their old Yorkshire rivals.
After the game, Sir Alex Ferguson confessed that Owen was not getting as much game time as he deserves.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Scotsman said: "His ratio (of goals) per game is unbelievable, his second goal today was fantastic. I’m very pleased for Michael.
"Unfortunately for us he’s had one or two injuries and with me having Hernandez, Berbatov and Rooney and several strikers like that, he’s not getting the games he deserves which is unfortunate for him, but he’s a fantastic player to have around."
The number seven has bagged 16 goals for the club since his free transfer move, six of which have come in the Carling-sponsored League Cup, two of which were at Scunthorpe, one at Barnsley and one in the 2010 final against Aston Villa.
