Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu was full of praise for his under-fire manager Steve Kean after scoring two goals in a shock 3-2 win at Old Trafford. Two goals from United striker Dimitar Berbatov cancelled out Berbatov’s brace, before Grant Hadley’s header settled the contest with 10 minutes to go.
Yakubu was on excellent form at Old Trafford as his two goals helped Blackburn claim their first away league win of a difficult season.
United were below-par and suffered a shock defeat, despite threatening a trademark comeback thanks to two goals from the on-form Berbatov.
Blackburn boss Steve Kean has been under immense pressure from his club’s supporters this season, but was offered support by Yakubu after his side claimed an incredible win at United.
He said: “Look at the way we played today. We fought for each other, we gave everything.
“Give credit to the manager, he was under pressure coming here to Old Trafford and to get three points.”
