United have huge opportunity at home to Fulham

Manchester United will go three points clear at the top of the Premier League if they can beat Fulham at Old Trafford on Monday evening. Sir Alex Ferguson's men have been gifted this fantastic opportunity after title rivals Manchester City drew 1-1 at Stoke City in Saturday's evening kick-off.

Peter Crouch scored a stunning goal for Stoke as Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

Yaya Toure restored parity with 14 minutes to go, but the travelling Citizens could not find a late winner.

The score draw in the Potteries has handed United a fantastic opportunity to open up a three-point lead at the top of the Premier League tree on Monday evening. 

United go into the game second in the table, but only on goal difference, and will be desperate to take full advantage of the game-in-hand. 

They will, however, be without Nani and Michael Owen for the game through injury.

 
Defender Phil Jones and midfielder Tom Cleverley could both feature in the match-day squad after making an appearance for the reserves during the week. 

Manchester United have won their last eight home games against the Cottagers, whilst the London club have not scored at Old Trafford for 410 minutes of league action!

The Red Devils will start the game as overwhelming favourites with the bookmakers -  but Fulham have claimed some impressive scalps this season and will be hoping to find themselves in the Premier League top-flight after Monday evening's game.
