No Manchester United players are due to start England's crucial World Cup qualifying match in Ukraine on Tuesday evening. Roy Hodgson has confirmed that he will make only one change to the side that beat Moldova, with Danny Welbeck missing out through suspension.

Welbeck grabbed a brace in England's 4-0 win on the weekend, but a yellow card left him suspended for Kiev.

Hodgson has confirmed that replacing Welbeck will be the only change he makes on Tuesday evening - with Jermain Defoe widely expected to step up to the plate and partner Southampton's Ricky Lambert.

That means there will be no United players in England's starting XI, as Red Devils frontman Wayne Rooney continues to nurse a head injury.

United quartet Chris Smalling, Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley and Ashley Young were unused substitutes at Wembley on Friday evening.

Those heady days of Beckham, Scholes, Butt, Pallister etc seem a long way off now....

How on earth Steve Bruce didn't get a cap is beyond me!
