Champions league summary and looking forward

After earning a very hard fought point in the Champions League on Wenesday evening, Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday evening with a televised game against struggling Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. David Moyes will be keen to get his team back on the winning trail after slipping up at home last Saturday against West Bromwich Albion.
United's manager was satisfied with a point as his side drew 1-1 with Shakhtar Donestsk to stay at the top of Champions League Group A.
The Red Devils took a first-half lead through Danny Welbeck but were denied victory by Brazilian forward Taison who equalised 14 minutes from the end of the game. It was a tough battle and the home side pressed strongly for a winner in the closing stages, but Manchester United hung onto the point with Ryan Giggs making a record 145th Champions League appearance, beating the record of Spanish forward Raul.
"It was a good point in the Champions League coming here" said David Moyes.
In terms of the match at the Stadium of Light, United should have Wayne Rooney back as the team will look to inflict more misery on their hosts who were beaten last Sunday at home by Liverpool.
Old Trafford will be full at the same time as United play in Sunderland the Grand Final of the Super League is taking place at the stadium with Wigan taking on Warrington.
