Shinji Kagawa played all but the closing minutes of Japan’s 2-0 friendly defeat in Serbia.

Japan, who have already qualified for the 2014 World Cup, were beaten by second-half goals from Dusan Tadic and Milos Jojic.

Kagawa, who has made four appearances for United this season, played 87 minutes of the game before being replaced by Inui.

Dejan Stankovic bid farewell to the Serbian supporters as he entered retirement with a 10-minute cameo appearance at the beginning of the friendly international.
