Rooney and RVP missing for United at Norwich

Neither Wayne Rooney nor Robin van Persie have been named in Manchester United's starting XI for Saturday's Premier League outing at Norwich.

United XI: De Gea, Smalling, Evans, Vidic, Evra, Young, Cleverley, Carrick, Giggs, Kagawa, Hernandez.

Rooney has not travelled with the United squad to Norwich, whilst RVP is still unavailable due to a thigh problem.

David Moyes welcomes back Michael Carrick and Nemanja Vidic, but is also without injured duo Phil Jones and Rafael.

Antonio Valencia is also missing for United after an act of petulance saw him sent-off at Hull City on Boxing Day.

United travel to Norfolk looking for a sixth successive win, and - despite a number of high-profile absentees - will be buoyed by the manner of their comeback win at the KC Stadium.

Chris Hughton's Canaries presently sit 14th in the Premier League table, three points above the relegation zone.
