United made it six wins on the bounce for the first time since September 2012 with a 1-0 win at Norwich City on Saturday.

Substitute Danny Welbeck grabbed the only goal of the game as United ended 2013 in winning style.

With Wayne Rooney and Robin can Persie both absent through injury, Welbeck put United ahead on 57 minutes as he rounded Canaries 'keeper John Ruddy and steered the ball home.

Norwich had enjoyed the better of much of the game's early exchanges, but lacked a cutting edge in front of goal.

Following Welbeck's opener, United were largely comfortable as David Moyes' men climbed to sixth in the Premier League table, seven points behind leaders Man City.

So for the second time in a matter of days - "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way, oh what fun it is to see, United win away."

Full Time - Norwich City 0-1 Manchester United
Attendance - 26,851

Wellbeck stood out from a really lacklustre performance by united. Better in the second half but utd's midfield lacked any sort of movement or keenness to work for the team, very disappointing. I hope that doesn't point to problems with the squad or the player/manager relationship.

Have to agree. United won't challenge for the title this season BUT a Cup victory would be ok for Moyes in his first season.

The League Cup was important to us in the past and a Cup is a Cup!

Happy New Year everyone.
