Chris Hughton feels his Norwich City side were unfortunate to suffer a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United on Saturday.

Danny Welbeck came off the bench to settle the contest with a second-half strike as United made it six wins on the bounce.

However, Norwich City had enjoyed the better of the game's early proceedings and many Canaries fans will feel aggrieved to have got nothing from the game.

Norwich boss Chris Hughton said: "I thought we were magnificent right throughout game. Their winner was a fortuitous goal with the double deflection which ran into the path of Danny Welbeck.

"Our organisation was excellent and we had some good chances. On the balance of play, defeat is a tough one to take.

"So many aspects of our game today were very good. But goals win games - and their goal was fortunate."

The Red Devils now sit sixth in the Premier League table, whilst Norwich are 14th - three points above the relegation zone.
