Defender Michael Keane has had his wish to extend his loan spell at Derby County granted by Manchester United.
Keane’s temporary stay was set to come to an end on New Year’s Day – but both the player and the Rams hoped that could be extended.
Manchester United have now agreed to a deal which will see the player remain at Pride Park until the end of January.
The Red Devils have also given permission for the youngster to play for the Rams in the FA Cup, meaning he is set for one of the biggest tests of his career on the weekend as Derby prepare to face Chelsea.
Keane has made three senior appearances for United, all of which have come in the League Cup. His debut was as a substitute at Aldershot in a 3-0 win in October 2011.
