Bray Wanderers claimed a 1-0 victory over a Manchester United XI in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.

United's second-string started their preparations for the new season with defeat as Jake Kelly bagged the only goal of the game shortly before half-time.

Bebe was one of the more high-profile names on show as a host of United youngsters returned to action at the Carlisle Grounds.

Warren Joyce made ten half-time changes with skipper Tom Thorpe the only player to be involved for the full 90 minutes, with twenty others playing one half each.

Bray stopper Shane Redmond denied Tom Lawrence's crashing second-half drive as United sought an equaliser, but the League of Ireland side held on for victory.

Joyce's reserve side continue their summer friendly fixtures on Tuesday at Hague Avenue against Southport, before travelling to Altrincham the following day.

Full Time - Bray Wanderers 1-0 Manchester United XI
