Reports in the Guardian state Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard is looking to leave the club, amid a lack of first-team opportunities.
For a brief spell, the former Aalesunds FK man found himself in contention for the number one spot at United, but David de Gea is now firmly established as United’s lead custodian.
Since joining the club in January 2011, he has made 29 appearances, but made only one Premier League outing last season.
Talking to the Guardian, his agent Michael Stensgaard said that with De Gea at the club, “the prospect” had been discussed “that Anders should go out and find a club where he should play”.
He added: “It’s not that United are kicking him out or anything. It’s a very constructive dialogue on how the future should look. Then in good co-operation we agreed that we would look into the opportunities”.
Given his lack of football at United, and at 30-years-of-age, a move away from Old Trafford seems a sensible move for the Danish international, capped six times by his country.
