U21s secure comfortable 3-0 Norwich win

Manchester United's second string got their league campaign underway with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Norwich City at Leigh Sports Village.

United's Under-21s utilised a 3-5-2 formation against the Canaries, indicating that Louis van Gaal may have a strong influence on the way the club's teams at all levels play.

Warren Joyce's men, missing star striker James Wilson, dominated the game from start to finish as they built on the recent Manchester Senior Cup triumph with a fine win.

The hosts took a two-goal lead into the break, with Tom Lawrence scoring from close range before Paddy McNair finishes off a move which started with a corner kick.

After the break, Joshua Harrop was on target to complete a comfortable win for United. Next up for the youngsters is a clash against rivals Liverpool.
