Phil Jones has praised Tyler Blackett and Michael Keane, following the two player's involvement in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Sunderland.

Blackett made his second successive appearance of the season at the Stadium of Light, whilst Keane was introduced from the bench after Chris Smalling sustained a groin injury.

Speaking to MUTV, the former Blackburn Rovers man said: "Both of them did a really great job.

"Tyler looked very comfortable and Mike came on and did equally well. Defensively they were very good."

Both players have gained the chance to impress amid a defensive selection headache for Louis van Gaal, with Smalling joining Jonny Evans and Luke Shaw in the treatment room, as the club awaits the clearance of Marcos Rojo's work permit.
