Carragher questions LVG's team selection policy

Ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has criticised Louis van Gaal’s team selection following Manchester United’s 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Milton Keynes Dons in the League Cup.
Van Gaal made ten changes to his starting line-up, with goalkeeper David de Gea the only survivor from the team that drew 1-1 at Sunderland on Sunday.
Despite the absence of European football this season, van Gaal named a host of young players in his starting XI, and his team were soundly punished by a highly-impressive MK Dons outfit.
The result ended any hopes United fans had of the team challenging on three domestic fronts this season, and mean the club will only be involved in Premier League games until the New Year.
Speaking on Twitter, Carragher said that whilst he admitted LVG for “giving youth a chance”, the fact that United, this season, have "not won a game yet" and with "no European football", he felt the former Netherlands boss "should have gone stronger".
Following the League Cup horror show, attentions now return to the Premier League, with Van Gaal now targeting Burnley’s Turf Moor as the scene of his first win in charge of the club. The all-Lancashire affair takes place on Saturday, and is United's first game of the season not to be broadcast live on British TV.
