Back at Palace

Wilfried Zaha has returned to Crystal Palace on loan, having failed to break into the first-team at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson was said to be a keen admirer of the winger, and United’s acquisition of Zaha was one of his final acts of business as United boss.

The player, however, has failed to make an impression at the Theatre of Dreams.

Zaha has made only four United appearances, two of which were in the Premier League. His only start for the club came in the Community Shield win against Wigan in August 2013.

After signing for United, Zaha was immediately loaned back to Palace, and has also spent time at Cardiff City.

His pace and power are hugely positive attributes, but the player failed to earn a chance under David Moyes, and does not seem to be part of Louis van Gaal’s plans either.

Zaha, who has two England caps, will link-up with new Palace boss Neil Warnock as the Eagles aim to build upon last season’s impressive 11th-placed Premier League finish.
