Blind deal on verge of completion?

Manchester United's summer spending spree looks set to continue amid reports that a £14.2million deal for Daley Blind will be completed before the transfer window slams shut.

Blind has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some while, and speculation from the Netherlands suggests that United have agreed a fee with Ajax for the player's services.

The 24-year-old is now expected to agree personal terms with the Red Devils and complete a switch to the Premier League.

Capped 19 times for the Netherlands, Blind can operate as a left-back or in a defensive midfield role. The latter was his preferred position at Ajax last season and would seem to be his most likely role at United.

The Dutch Player of the Season has played a key role in helping Ajax secure four successive Eredivisie titles, and would sacrifice another crack at the Champions League with the Amsterdam club to join United.
