Blind's last-gasp stunner rescues point for United at Boleyn

Daley Blind rescued a vital point for Louis van Gaal's Manchester United, but the performance of his Red Devils charges for much of the game will cause concern.

United did not begin to perform until the hosts broke the deadlock - and the travelling Red Army will feel relieved to have left East London with a point.

The Hammers controlled much of the opening half, and broke the deadlock minutes after the break thanks to a stunning volley from Cheikhou Kouyate.

Van Gaal's men had David de Gea to thank for not being further behind, with the Spaniard producing a string of excellent first-half saves before Kouyate's excellent strike.

The Red Devils' best spell came in the closing stages, with Radamel Falcao, Robin van Persie and Marouane Fellaini going close, before Blind showed great composure, opportunism and guile to fire home a dramatic equaliser.

With seconds remaining, Blind's stunning volley rifled into the back of the net, ensuring United keep a seven-point lead over Sam Allaydyce's men in the Premier League table. A lucky escape.
