Swansea double stuff 'to tell the grandchildren'

Garry Monk, Swansea City's manager, has lauded his side's recent league double over Manchester United.

The Jacks secured the feat for the first time courtesy of Saturday's 2-1 win, which followed their victory by the same scoreline on the opening day of the season at Old Trafford.

Ki Sung-yueng and Jonjo Shelvey were on target for the Jacks, cancelling out Ander Herrera's opener.

"These are the type of things you remember, stuff to tell the grandchildren," said the 35-year-old.

"To make history for the club is fantastic for this team to be remembered - and it is no mean feat. Everyone connected with the club should be extremely proud of that."

United and Swansea have now met on 25 occasions - 11 wins for the Red Devils and 9 for the South Walian club.

Saturday's defeat leaves the Red Army nervously studying the league table as the race for Champions League football hots up, with only three points now separating third-placed Arsenal and seventh-placed Spurs. United sit fourth.
