Herrera a 'GENIUS', says team-mate

Juan Mata has heaped praise on Ander Herrera following his match-winning brace against Aston Villa on Easter Saturday.

Mata played alongside Herrera at Old Trafford as the Red Devils took a monumental leap towards a return to the Champions League with a 3-1 win.

Writing on his blog after the win, Mata singled out praise for his compatriot, who took his tally for the season to five goals.

He wrote: "I think this is the first time he scores twice in a game and I’m very happy for him!

"The truth is he deserves it. He is a genius on and off the pitch and I know how happy he was after the game."

Mata also highlighted the importance of the upcoming Manchester derby, noting the Red Devils must be "careful with City’s attacking players".

The Spaniard has been on hugely impressive form in recent weeks, with a stunning brace at Anfield among one of the most important individual performances of the season for Louis van Gaal's side.
