Januzaj is United's Friday night light

Manchester United's tremendous Villa Park record blossomed again on Friday evening, with Adnan Januzaj's goal securing a 1-0 win in the Midlands.

A surprise start, the youngster latched onto a Juan Mata pass and fired home a close-range finish with 29 minutes on the clock.

Following a drab opening win against Spurs, Friday's clash also won't find its way onto any classic footage reel. However, it was a more convincing performance with Villa rarely threatening.

Whilst the visitors, and Chris Smalling in particular, looked comfortable at the back; the Red Army will expect to see more in attack and Wayne Rooney, who could feature more regularly as an out-and-out striker, is due a big performance. 

This was a big win, however. United move top of the league for a few hours at least, and new stopper Sergio Romero hasn't conceded in three hours of action as David de Gea's troubling absence continues.
