Testimonial for Rooney - Charities will benefit 100%

Wayne Rooney has been awarded a testimonial by Manchester United and has already pledged that all the proceeds will go to charity. The match will take place at Old Trafford on 3rd August 2016. The opponents have yet to be named.

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is quaoted as saying "From his sensational debut hat-trick to the latest of his 236 goals, Wayne has been a central figure in what has been one of the most successful periods in the club's history."

Rooney is set to break numerous records at United, he is only 13 goals behind Bobby Charlton's all time goalscoring record of 249 goals. He will surpass 500 appearances for the club shortly, he is currently on 493 appearances.
