Manchester Evening News believed Henrikh Mkhitaryan was one of United's top performers, during Saturday's 2-0 pre-season friendly win against Wigan Athletic.
The Armenian international joined United from Borussia Dortmund and donned the Red Devils jersey for the first time at Wigan.
M.E.N rate his performance as a 7/10, praising him as "slick, quick" and showing "good awareness as United's playmaker". In an eyebrow-raising assessment, the newspaper concludes that "Wayne Rooney could be in trouble".
James Wilson, however, was given a dour appraisal by M.E.N, rated at 3/10. The newspaper say the forward has "not performed as a starter since his debut over two years ago".
