Champions League winners AC Milan are sending mixed messages regarding their interest in signing David Beckham. Two directors of the club have spoke on the issue, one confirming Milan's interest, the other denying any chance of a move for the England skipper.

been sending mixed messages over their interest in signing David Beckham.
Conflicting statements have been made people involved with the club, once
confirming and one denying Milan's interest in the England skipper. The
comments made only add to the confusion surrounding one of the longest
transfer
Champions League winners AC Milan have been sending mixed messages over whether or not they are interested in bringing David Beckham to the San Siro. Statements have been made by both the clubs vice-chairman and general director. Vice Chairman Adriano Galliani confirmed the rumours surrounding AC Milan's interest saying, "David Beckham is currently our top priority, we want him at AC Milan." Milan's General Director Ariedo Braida though has made a very different statement proclaiming, "No, we are absolutely not interested, they are just fantasy rumours that have been reported by the press. "He is a quality player, but he does not fit into our future plans and we and have no intention of buying him." The two conflicting views from Galliani and Braida just add to the confusion surrounding the ongoing speculation over Beckham's transfer. Real Madrid are said to be still interested in signing Becks, despite their Chairman denying all rumours several weeks ago, and Barcelona are also believed to be looking to obtain the 28-year-old's signature although their is doubt over whether they could afford the large transfer fee and wage bill, although a part-exchange deal involving Patrick Kluivert could be on the cards. Barcelona is looking the most unattractive move for Beckham of the three clubs rumoured to be interested. The Spanish outfit had a very disappointing league season, finishing just 8th in La Liga and had it not been for the arrival of their new coach Radomir Antic they could have been relegated. The club has had to go through the embarrassing procedure of applying to enter the Intertoto Cup in an attempt to ensure they do not miss out on European Qualification for the first time in their history. Both AC Milan and Real Madrid will be playing Champions League football next season. |
