Old Trafford to Host England Qualifier

England's final Euro 2004 qualifier against Liechtenstein will be played at Old Trafford. The game, scheduled for September 10th, will be the first international at Old Trafford since England’s 2-2 draw against Greece, which gave them qualification to the World Cup Finals.

Old Trafford to Host England Qualifier

Old Trafford will stage England's final European Championship Qualifying match against Liechtenstein in September.

This will mean that David Beckham will almost certainly be playing at Old Trafford next season, whether or not he is a Manchester United player.

Becks' last international at Old Trafford was England's 2-2 draw with Greece. His last minute free-kick gave England automatic qualification to the World Cup Finals in Japan & Korea.

The Champions League final between AC Milan and Juventus was also held at Old Trafford.

David Gill, Managing Director of United is delighted the game is at Old Trafford, saying: "Manchester United is thrilled to be working with the Football Association to host this critical match in England's qualification campaign for Euro 2004.

"We have a great working relationship with the FA and are honoured to have staged England matches at Old Trafford in the past, including the crucial World Cup qualifier against Greece. We are greatly looking forward to hosting the Liechtenstein game in September and are sure it will be a great occasion for everyone."

The game takes place on September 10th, and will be a 7.45pm kick-off.
