2003/2004 Fixtures Announced

United will kick off the defence of their Premiership crown with a home Lancashire derby against Bolton Wanderers on August 16th.

The following Saturday, the Red Devils face a difficult trip to St.James' Park to face fellow Championship contenders Newcastle United.

Arsenal visit Old Trafford on September 20th, with the return match at Highbury scheduled for March 27th.

The local derbies against arch-rivals Manchester City take place on 13th December and 13th March, with the latter being the first Manchester derby to be played at City's new stadium, the City of Manchester Arena.

The rose derby against Leeds United take place on 18th October (Elland Road) and 21st February (Old Trafford).

Of course, the other game United fans will be eagerly anticipating is the derby with Liverpool. The League Cup Holders play hosts to United on 8th November, with the return game at Old Trafford to be on 24th April.

United finish the season with a tricky away trip to Villa Park, to take on David O'Leary's Aston Villa. That game follows the visit of Chelsea to Old Trafford the previous Saturday.

All fixtures are subject to change, and are likely to be moved for either live television coverage or international call-ups throughout the season.

Other important dates for your diary include the Third Round of the F.A Cup on January 3rd, the Third Round of the League Cup on 27th October and the start of the group stages of the European Cup on 16th September.
