Juan Sebastian Veron has denied saying he will move to Serie A for next season. The Argentine has pledged his immediate future to United, but still expects to return to Italy to play club football before his career is over.

has denied saying that he expects to be playing in Serie A next season,
pledging his immediate future to Manchester United. He does though expect to play club football in Italy again before his career is over. The Argentine attacking midfielder was delighted with United's title success last season, and now has the ambition to win more trophies next season. “Winning the Premiership in 2002/03 has given me a taste for success in England,” said the 28-year-old. "Right now my only thoughts are of United, and my aim is to improve my game," "I know one day I will return to play in Italian football. But I am not planning to do so for the time being." "My first year at the club was so-so but in the second we won the Premiership title. Now I want to return to winning important trophies in Europe. Veron has failed to fulfil his full potential since joining United for £28.8million two seasons ago, and questions have been raised over his effort levels on the domestic scene. A rumoured dressing room spat with Roy Keane last season also fuelled rumours that Veron would make a quick return back to Italy. Should Veron stay at United, he can expect to be involved in more first team games due to the departure of David Beckham. |
