Brazilian World Cup winner Kleberson looks set to become United's latest summer signing, subject to a medical. United fought off competition from Leeds United to obtain the players signature, and now seem certain to sign the midfielder for a fee believed to be in the region of £5million.

Brazilian World Cup Winner Kleberson looks set to become a
United player, subject to a medical. The midfielder flew into Manchester today, and is expected to become the first Brazilian to sign for the Red Devils within the next few days. Kleberson has been tracked closely be Leeds United in recent months, but have not been able to match United's bid, believed to be in the region of £5million. Kleberson seems delighted with the move, stating it's been an ambition of his to play in the Premiership. "It's a dream for me to play in England, I believe I'm ready for this challenge." said the ??-year-old. "Gilberto Silva of Arsenal talks of how well contested the matches are in the Premiership. "In Brazil, the game is more based on individual skills. In England, teams play quicker and with more tactical awareness. "All people yearn for new conquests. I have conquered everything with Atletico. I started at the club where I grew up and conquered all the challenges. "I was champion of the Brazilian state and I won the World Cup while representing the colours of Atletico. But I believe that my next objective is Europe." Sir Alex Ferguson's move for Kleberson comes as quite a surprise, especially considering the recent acquisition of Eric Djemba-Djemba, who is seen as a similar player to the Brazilian. |
