Burnley have completed the signing of former Manchester United defender David May on a free transfer. The 33-year-old was released by Sir Alex Ferguson during pre-season, and spent a brief period on trial at Glasgow Rangers, before deciding on a move to Turf Moor.

Former Manchester United defender David May has signed
for Burnley on a free transfer. The 33-year-old left Old Trafford during pre-season, after being released by Sir Alex Ferguson, and as been searching for a new club since. May spent a short-trial period at Glasgow Rangers, but the Scottish Treble winners decided against offering the England B international a contract. May will now join former team-mates Lee Roche, who was released at the same time as May, and Luke Chadwick, who is currently spending a year on-loan at Turf Moor. Clarets Manager Stan Ternent is delighted with his new signing. "May is a quality player, and will give us experience at the back," said the Burnley boss. "We leaked three goals on Saturday, so we need improvements in defence." May has signed a one-year contract with the First Division outfit. Good Luck David! |
