After what was a nightmare international week for all British sides in action, it's back to the domestic scene as United face Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford. United are currently 2 points behind Arsenal and 1 point behind Chelsea and will be looking to keep the pressure on them.

After what was a nightmare international week for all British sides in
action, it's back to the domestic scene as United face Lancashire rivals
Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford. United are currently 2 points behind Arsenal and 1 point behind big-spenders Chelsea and will be looking to keep the pressure on the 'big two' in the 12:30 kick-off. But Blackburn are at the other end of the table, currently lying only 4 spaces off the bottom with 11 points. As for the team news, Diego Forlan, who scored two goals against Brazil in midweek, is a major doubt for the game, as he got back from South America on Friday afternoon and if he appears, he will male his 50th appearance for United. But Forlan isn't the only United striker in fine international form, Dutch master-class Ruud van Nistelrooy scored a hat-trick against Scotland in midweek. van Nistelrooy will defiantly start upfront. Both Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs have recovered from minor injuries and are both set to start for the Red Devils. Meanwhile, Wes Brown is ever so close to gaining full fitness. Blackburn Rovers are without Neil Lucas and former United star, and last player to wear No.9 for United- Andy Cole due to suspension. David Thomson and Corrado Grabbi are the two obvious absentees. Other former-United star Dwight Yorke is set to star and will be a danger man. You can get an unattractive 2/9 on a win for United but you can get a striking 9/1 on an away win.

The former United striker, replacing other former United striker Andy Cole, will be looking to bag a few more to against the club that let him go to Rovers for £2 million. The Trinidad and Tobagan striker was a vital part of United's treble winning season and wants to get revenge against United. |
