Manchester United's versatile forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is back in light training, and is expected to be available for selection again by mid-January. The Norwegian international has been out since September after undergoing knee surgery.

Solskjaer looks set to return to action in mid-January after a long-lay off
due following a knee operation.
The Norwegian international hasn't played since mid-September and United have missed his versatility. The fan-favourite can play as an out-and-out striker or on the right side of midfield, and was heralded as a permanent replacement for David Beckham towards the end of last season. Solskjaer, who has been at Old Trafford since 1995, missed out on the climax of Norway's European Championship qualification campaign. The Scandinavian country narrowly missed out on a place in the finals after a play-off defeat against Spain over two-legs. Solskjaer's will return will come as fantastic news to the United faithful, and will bring some extra depth to the squad. Nicknamed the 'Super-Sub', Solskjaer will face a battle to get back into the team though, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Darren Fletcher and Diego Forlan all in his way of a possible route back into the starting line-up. |
