Manchester United will travel to
Middlesbrough's The Riverside Stadium to play their 2nd game in 3 days over
the festive period.
There is no doubt about both sides making several changes due to only 1 day of rest in between the game on Boxing Day and the game 2 days after. 'Boro are unbeaten in the month of December claiming two 0-0 draws against Portsmouth and Everton, a 1-1 draw with Tottenham and most recently losing a 2-1 lead right at the end to Blackburn to draw 2-2. Steve McClaren's outfit currently lay 11th in the Premiership. As for the team news, on-loan defender Danny Mills is a doubt for 'Boro after just recovering from the flu. Ugo Ehiogu may take his place but is slightly short of fitness after just starting training again due to a long-term injury. As for United, John O'Shea and Mikael Silvestre picked up knocks on Boxing day and may not play. Wes Brown might return to the starting line-up, after missing the start of the season due to an ankle injury. Ruud van Nistelrooy, Paul Scholes and skipper Roy Keane are likely to start or feature in the game at some point after missing the game against Everton. If you fancy a flutter, United are 4/6 to win this tough away tie whilst Middlesbrough are 7/2 to take 3 points away from United. |
| One to Watch - Gareth Southgate |
|
United have been heavily linked with the former
England international and may move in for him in the new year.
Southgate will look to keep his defence well organized against the likes of Ronaldo, Forlan and van Nistelrooy. |

Although I would
love United to win this, I don't really see it happening. 2 games in 3
days is a lot to ask of your players.
