United Snap-Up Celtic's Miller

The highly-rated 22-year old snubbed a contract at Celtic and admitted that he is very excited in moving to Old Trafford.

"As a young boy I only supported two clubs, Glasgow Celtic and Manchester United." disclosed Miller

"It's very exciting and is going to be a challenge to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world." 

"I am honoured to have played for Celtic for six years and now I look forward to joining Manchester United." he added

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson commented on the move, saying: "We recognised the potential of Liam, he has had a great season at Celtic. He is very much part of our progressive thinking of developing a young team over the next few years."

The Irishman broke into Celtic's first team a year ago and has impressed everyone in the SPL and in the Champions League since joining The Hoops from local Irish side County Cork.

It is believed that Roy Keane urged Sir Alex to make a move for Miller as Keane thinks that he is the 'right man' to fill his boots when he retires. Like Keane, Miller comes from Cork and has been a regular in the Ireland U21 squad.

But in Celtic's view- every cloud has a silver lining as they have captured Motherwell's hot prospect Stephan Pearson for £350,000, who was a United target.
