Youngsters To Help Struggling Antwerp

Eddie Johnson, Mads Timm and Phil Bardsley are the reported trio set to join up with Antwerp later this week not only to help Antwerp, but to help their careers in football and to give them vital first-team experience.

"It is a loan deal for all three of them until the end of the season." said general secretary of Antwerp, Paul Bistiaux

"Of course, we are looking forward to having all three in the first team, should they agree to the move."

"We are hoping to have them in the first team in time for next weekend's match." he added.

Eddie Johnson, 18, is a promising centre-forward who has established a place in the United reserve squad and also established a firm spot in the England U19 team. Johnson recently scored twice for the U19's against British rivals Wales.

Defender Phil Bardsley, also 18, only just signed a 4-year contract with the Red Devils and played against West Brom in the Carling Cup United.

Danish Midfielder/striker Mads Timm, a common member in the Danish U21 squad, has appeared many times in a United shirt mainly making substitute appearances in the Champions League. He along with the other duo are all ready to go out on loan and its and ideal time to join struggling Antwerp.

The trio join currently join fellow United players: Hussain, Mamam, David Fox and Colin Heath at Antwerp.
