Neil Wood Completes Burnley Loan Move

United's Neil Wood has moved to Burnley on a one-month loan deal. The 21-year-old striker is yet to make an appearance for the Red Devils first-team, and the move to Turf Moor will give Wood some more vital first-team experience after a loan spell with Peterborough United earlier in the season.

Manchester United striker Neil Wood has moved to fellow Lancashire outfit Burnley on a one-month loan deal.

Clarets boss Stan Ternent has also snapped up Charlton Athletic Paul Rachubka as he looks to strengthen his squad and turn around Burnley's season, as they wallow at the wrong end of the First Division table.

21-year-old Wood is yet to make his first-team bow at Old Trafford, but he scored for Peterborough United during his short loan three-match loan spell with Barry Fry's club.

Rachubka is a former United 'keeper, making three appearances for the Red Devils first team as well as having loan spells at Royal Antwerp and Oldham Athletic before moving to The Valley for £200,000 just under two years ago.

Neil Wood is highly rated in the United reserve and youth set-ups, but he has been unable to break into contention for a run-out in the first-team, and the move to Turf Moor will do the world of good to the forward.
