Everton vs. Manchester United - Match Preview

David Moyes' Everton surprised everyone last season by nearly gaining European qualification but have disappointed so far this term, being just 4 places from the Premiership's dreaded trap-door.

The corresponding game at Goodison Park last season was United's end-of-season party, following the Championship being secured the previous weekend after Leeds United beat Arsenal at Highbury. David Beckham scored a trademark free-kick in his last ever game for the club and Ruud Van Nistelrooy was also on the scoresheet in a game that ended Everton's chances of Europe.

However, United's home-tie against David Moyes' outfit proved a great up-hill battle, but quality prevailed in the end and United were triumphant by a narrow goal in a 3-2 thriller at Old Trafford. 

Everton have only won a mere one home game this season but still continue to battle up the league.

Duncan Ferguson and Alan Stubbs are doubts for the game but Joseph Yobo  (African Cup Of Nations) and David Weir (leg) after defiantly out of the fixture. On the other hand David Unsworth and Kevin Campbell are both back from injury.

United welcome the return of Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs from injury after missing from previous games. Ole Gunner Solskjaer, who played in a recent reserve match, is just lacking match practice and may appear on the bench. Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy is just a simple strike away from his 100th Manchester United goal.

One to Watch - Francis Jeffers
The Arsenal striker is on-loan with his former club, and is finding his form with the Toffees netting twice since making the temporary switch from Highbury. If the United defence give a repeat performance of last Saturday, Jeffers will fancy his chances.
