Today, February 6th, marks the 46th anniversary of the tragic Munich air crash which caused the death of eight Manchester United players. As a mark of respect, all players will wear black armbands for the Premiership clash against Everton on Saturday.

of the eight United players amongst the 21 who died during the tragic Munich
air crash in 1958. Roger Byrne, Eddie Colman, Mark Jones, David Pegg, Tommy Taylor, Geoff Bent, Liam Whelan and Duncan Edwards were the lives lost on February 6th, 46 years ago. Matt Busby and his highly-rated team were returning from a 3-3 European Cup draw with Red Star Belgrade when the disaster took place. It's a nice gesture to the families of the players that died, with even the youngest United fan aware of the 1958 heartbreak. Despite the crash happening almost half-a-decade ago, the contributions and efforts of the players who lost their lives have not been, and never will be forgotten. It's part of what makes you proud to be a Red. Rest in Peace lads. |
