Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that he is excited to play against his idol David Beckham on Wednesday, when Ronaldo's Portugal and Beckham's England face each other in a Euro 2004 warm-up in Portugal.

Ronaldo, signed from Sporting Lisbon, replaced Beckham in the summer when Becks made his illustrious move from Old Trafford to The Bernabeu and took over the prestigious No.7 shirt. "David Beckham is a player I really admire and so it will be a great honour for me to finally play on the same field as him," admitted the £12million wonderkid. "People have tried to compare us because of the fact I now have the shirt he wore at United, but we are very different players." |
