Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone minor heart surgery and has had a pace-maker fitted after he was suffering heart irregularity. The 62-year went to Manchester Hospital for the short procedure to ensure that he is perfectly fit and healthy to carry on at Old Trafford

serving manager Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone heart surgery by having a
pace-maker fitted for minor heart irregularity.
The 62-year old Red Devils boss went to Manchester Hospital for the short procedure to ensure that he is perfectly fit and healthy to carry on as manager at Old Trafford. "Sir Alex Ferguson received a treatment in hospital today following a routine check up several months ago which revealed a minor heart irregularity." a club statement read "The procedure went well and Sir Alex Ferguson is resting at home and is due in work on Friday." Ferguson was keen to re-assure fans that everything is OK and is back to work and described it as 'business'. "I want to re-assure fans everything is okay." the Scotsman confirmed. "It was an option for me to get this done. The club knew about it and I feel great. It's business as usual." Ferguson recently appointed fellow Scotsman Walter Smtih as his assistant to take a few burdens off his back and to help him get United back to winning form after their recently dodgy spell. |
