Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has rejected a cheeky bid from Norwegian side Molde in an attempt to capture their former trainee Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on-loan until the end of the season. Solskjaer only recently returned to the squad after being out for 6 months due to a knee injury.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has rejected a cheeky bid from Norwegian side Molde in an attempt to capture Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on-loan until the end of the season.

The Norwegian international has been out of the side since September after picking up a serious knee injury but has just returned to action, making his first start in 6 months for The Red Devils in the 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend but a short return to his former club is now off.

Molde director Espen Silseth had this to say: "I talked about it with his advisor Jim Solbakken - it would had been great if we had managed it and if it was something that Ole Gunnar and Manchester United wanted,"

"If he had been interested in match training during the spring and summer, it would have been interesting for us. But now they want him to train himself up in Manchester ahead of next season." he continued.

The Red Devils see Solskjaer as a replacement for England captain David Beckham on the right hand side of the midfield and at the end of last season, Sir Alex saw the Norwegian as better player than Beckham on the right saying that he adds penetration down the wing.
